“Taste of Middlesex” Festival Comes to Maritime Park – Food, Music, Classic Cars, Sloop “Luna”, Oct 15th.

By Bill Powell

All of the folks in Middlesex County know there are a lot of things Middlesex has to be proud of; our miles of coastline, year round fishing, beautiful views, relaxed living and the unique, “touch of salt” taste of our Rappahannock River Oyster. As more restaurants and commercial kitchens have been added to the Middlesex “Mix” the County now has many signature “Tastes’ it can call its own.

Bringing these   “Taste’s”  together with other inclusive Middlesex attractions will all be featured in the upcoming “Taste of Middlesex” Festival   to be held at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park on October 15th 10am-4pm. There will be food of all types, craft beer, a wine tasting, a Classic Car Show, the Sloop “Luna” and the Colonial Seaport Foundation will attend, live music from 10-4, free deadrise creek cruises, tours of the F.D. Crockett and the Boat Shop. Add model trains from our own Rappahannock Railroaders and  Children’s games and activities you have a day with something for everyone.

Come to taste what our area has to offer and stay to enjoy the Classic Car Show and the Sloop “Luna” from the Colonial Seaport Foundation. There will be live music, many craft vendors, free deadrise creek cruises, and tours of the F.D. Crockett, as well as model trains and games for the children. The Boat shop will display the new Hull 104 now building in the shop.

The fun starts at 10, ends at 4, and requires no ticket. There will be a per car parking donation of $5.

Local musicians David Moran, “Riptide” , and the “Ray Pittman Revival” will be on the bandstand, 10-4pm.
