Maritime Park Postpones Opening Groovin’ Concert

Deltaville Maritime Museum's Groovin' In The Park - Postponed

Rescheduling Based on Status of VA Restrictions

The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park have postponed their May 2nd Opening Day “Elana Lisa and the Hot Mess” concert for the 2020 “Groovin’ in the Park” outdoor music series. The concert will be rescheduled for the first Saturday after the current restrictions are lifted that is mutually available for both the Waterfront Park and the Band.

Elana and the Band are raring to play for us. For a nice video of the group you can watch at home, go to their Facebook page, click videos and pick the promo video. Hot, hot, hot! Other great vids too.

The Maritime Park wants all of its members and friends to please, please, practice social distancing, limit travel, wear face masks in public and follow all other guidelines to stay safe and well. I know we all are looking forward to us  getting together again.

As the Park’s members advance discount ticket package is normally over at the season’s first concert, we extend the discount offer until the first concert of the season. At the present time that would be the Memorial Day Saturday concert with Ray Pittman and Blues guitarist Bobby Messano on Saturday May 23rd at 5pm.  Watch this paper and our website for updates as we get closer.

Every effort is being made to hold the full 7 concert season using rescheduling. We are working with the artists to make this happen. The Maritime Park will follow all governmental policies to keep our people safe as directed.

Currently the Museum itself is closed until the June 10th date unless the current restrictions are lifted earlier, which is possible. Museum staff is working remotely to monitor and answer messages and keep the website current. Please check the website and this paper for the current status.

Our 30+ acre Holly Point Nature Park is still open dawn to dusk for a place for folks to get out of the house and outside in the fresh air. We are following the new tightened restrictions by asking everyone to limit their use to walking, jogging, exercising and hiking. We also ask that any of you who come out to  please follow required distancing(6 feet or more) and group limit protocols  (10 or less) while in the Park. Make sure you respect the personal space of others using the Park. Outside bathrooms are closed but there is a portajohn in the Waterfront Park.

Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park is a volunteer, all donation, non-profit organization,  located in Deltaville, VA. at 287 Jackson Creek Road.
